Discussion Forum*

A Question of Genes raises profound and provocative questions about genetic testing: What are the benefits? What are the downsides? How can a person weigh all the factors needed to make a decision about genetic testing? What happens next?

Discussion Forum is your chance to send your questions to a panel of participants from the program, including physicians, patients, researchers and other experts in the fields of genetics and ethics. Panelists will be available from September 16 to October 3, 1997, to take your questions. Selected questions will be posted in this area and panelists' answers will be added as soon as possible. New discussions will be posted for the next few weeks, so please check back frequently.

Plus, you can weigh in with your opinions and concerns about genetic testing -- and read what other viewers from around the country think.

Begin at Meet the Participants*, where you can review the list of panelists and go to their individual Discussion Areas. You may wish to bookmark this page so you can come back to check for answers to your questions and any comments from others.

*The Discussion Forum was hosted on the PBS web site, and is no longer active.
